Collagen Induction Therapy Microneedling

Microneedling, also referred to as collagen induction therapy, is a non-invasive procedure aimed at improving the health and appearance of the skin. 75% of our skin is made up of collagen, collagen is responsible for the firmness and firmness of our skin. Our collagen production is at its peak at the age of 25-28, then steadily declines and then completely stops at the age of 50-60. Over time, however, its quality, i.e. its ability to bind water, also decreases. As a result, the skin loses its elasticity and firmness, which leads to wrinkles. It addresses various skin issues, such as fine lines and scars from acne or injuries
However, significant results typically require multiple sessions (at least 3). Microneedling is an innovative facial rejuvenation treatment that uses tiny, sanitised needles to penetrate the top layer of the skin. These micro-wounds signal the body to repair the damaged area, causing the natural development of collagen and elastin, which are responsible for making skin firm and plump.
The depth at which the needles penetrate the skin is essential. Superficial needling, typically up to 1.5 millimetres, focuses on the epidermis to enhance texture and pigmentation. Between 1.5 to 2.5 millimetres, the stimulation reaches the dermis, addressing deeper wrinkles and scarring. This precision ensures customised results tailored to each client’s specific skin needs.

Skin recovery after microneedling
The duration of redness ( face will look like sunburn ) after microneedling varies depending on factors such as complexion, skin sensitivity, and the depth of needle penetration. It’s normal for certain areas of the face to be redder and more sensitive than others. Typically, the redness can last for at least 24 hours and may persist for up to three days. I advise scheduling microneedling treatments before a weekend to allow time for the redness to subside.
